He Won!

Last Friday I joined about 25,000 of my closest friends downtown to welcome Barack Obama! It was an awesome experience, and made even better since he won last night and will be our 44th President! Very exciting!

What a wonderful vacation!

Just returned from a wonderful week on old Cape Cod with Tony and Tim. We had such a great time! Here we are on our way over to Martha's Vineyard on the car ferry! Had an exciting time returning as the fog was as thick as soup! But we survived nicely! It's so nice to have adult children that like to spend vacations with their Mom! How lucky am I!!!

Retirement is good

Oh Hi!

I've been on the go since oficially being retired. My friend, Peter, surprised me with a trip to Las Vegas. We left last Wednesday, saw the Hoover Dam, "O" at the Bialligio, and just wandered through the streets in the 112 degree heat! It was great fun, but good to get back to Des Moines on Saturday where everything is GREEN!! Peter left for Canada on Monday, so I've had two days of retirement by myself. I've walked both mornings, and plugged away on things that need to be done around here. I have to keep reminding myself that I don't need to hurry!!

Today is the first day of my grand, glorious, long awaited retirement! It has been a whirlwind weekend with family here and lots of parties! So here is a photo of me leaving the office for good yesterday! Details will follow!
